    Wait period after cleaning ?

I saw a video a few years back of a guy shooting an AK with apparently way too much oil in it. He did a fast mag dump and the rifle caught fire!

    Interesting Conversation I Had....Your Thoughts?

If you though that Covid buying was bad, you shoulda been around here for Y2K. People were absolutely panicking and buying anything they could get their hands on at outrageous prices. I sold one of my 9mms and while I didn't gouge the buyer, I did make a healthy profit. ;)

How often do you clean your gun?

After every shooting. Usually go to the range one day and clean guns the next. But then, some of my guns go a long time between range trips. Sometimes years.

    22lr Conversion kit for a 1911

Many years ago I picked up a Ciener Platinum Cup conversion for the 1911. I liked it so much that I built up a frame to mount it on permanently. 😁 However, I hear that Ciener went out of business a couple of years ago. They do pop up used every now and then. I hear that the Kimber unit is a...

    Why 1911 or 2011?

I like the standard 1911. Its like the gun was built for my hand. Never cared for the 2011 feel. Although I do own one double stack 1911. Its an older Para-Ordnance P-14. Lemme tell ya, 14 rounds of 45acp gets heavy. You can actually feel the gun getting lighter as the magazines empties. The...

    Daffy Zone…..

42 years as a mechanic and I can absolutely swear this is true. 😁 As for eating, being a city mechanic, we had to fix the garbage trucks. After a while, you just get used to it. But we did wash our hands before eating. ;) Its always fun to watch the new guys the first time they have to climb...

    Unexpected Owl

I'm not sure. I guess it depends on the seriousness of the injury. However, just about every Raptor Center has at least one resident bird who can no longer fly. They use them as exhibits and some are even trained for shows. Either way, you can bet that this bird will be well cared for. ;)

Springfield Armory Mil-Spec 1911 air pistol

I have one. Looks and feels a lot like the real thing, although not quite as heavy. The slide does cycle with every shot like a real pistol. Trigger pull is a little long, but nice and clean. Plinking accurate, but no tack driver. I like the fact that the CO2 cartridge is in the magazine...

the sweeter things in life just happened

I'm a S&W man from way back. But I gotta be honest. The Model 1854 has left me completely underwhealmed. No interest in it at all. :( For lever guns, I like the Winchester designs. They just fit and handle better for me. ;)

Best 1911 Upgrade? Stan Chen SI Magwell

I'm not a fan of mag-wells. To properly seat the magazine, you need to add bump pads to them. They add length to both the gun and the mags. And then these are only offered with flat mainspring housings. I prefer arched. I suppose it could be helpful on a competition only gun. But I see no...

Ronin EMP 3: Does the trigger get better?

I don't want a match grade trigger on a carry gun. Smooth and crisp, yes. But real light, no. When the adrenaline starts pumping, you don't want any mistakes. Too light of a trigger can lead to NDs. I like about a 5lb trigger on my carry 1911s. Under stress, you won't even notice. ;)

    The Importance of Firearm Ownership

What are y'all gettin' so riled up over? It's all BS anyway. Trump just running his mouth as usual. Nothing will happen. Next week he'll find some new stupidity to run his mouth about.

Will Tariffs Spark an Ammunition Panic Buy? Probably. Here’s

Not long ago I was reading an article saying that ammo prices will drop as folks are no longer afraid of the antis and will be buying less. I wonder how its gonna play out?

John Deer Enters The Pickup Truck Market

Years ago I worked for a truck leasing company. One of our customers had the contract to deliver John Deere parts from the main warehouse to the dealerships. At the time, most of our rental/lease fleet was International Harvester trucks. This customer refused to use them as they were the...
