There are many great self defense firearms. The issue becomes what firearm is she the most comfortable with and able to operate effectively. Unfortunately the only way you can figure this out is by shooting multiple firearms until you find the one that is right for her.

The three firearms on my EDC rotation are all stock with the exception of night sights. I consider these to be tools.

On top is my Saint Victor with a Leupold Freedom RDS with BDS. The lower is my Saint Pistol to which I added an AT3 RSD and Maxim collapsible brace (same as used on Saint Edge).

The most powerful hand gun I own is a Taurus Raging Bull in .454 Casull and the post powerful I have ever fired was a friend's Desert Eagle in .50 AE. .
