You might check the gas adjustment to see it is set at the proper position.

M1A is chambered for 308 which is a higher pressure than 7.62, either works fine in the M1A.

My RO Compact and the PT-1911, both are pretty awesome pistols! IMHO.

My first center fire pistol was the Taurus PT-99 and I still love it and the design, it has never failed no matter what type of ammo I've used in it. My son has the 92 FS compact and after shooting that, it is on the next pistol to get list. I am a fan!

I have several times, but if the pin wasn't seated correctly wouldn't it misfire on every shot? it just does it sometimes. I might fire off 10 or 15 rounds then *click*. extract and chamber next round then *bang*.
