I managed to get my Mil Spec 1911 yesterday and replaced the walnut grips with US GI grips that the I bought from the Armory store.

Well as an update, I couldn't remove the muzzle myself and managed to find a gunsmith who managed to change it, however it took a lot of effort to remove and then replace it with the new one.
