2nd Day Air, Buyer Beware - Package Tours Country with Flair!

Although my original post here was about an inexpensive IWB holster, not a gun, figured I’d share some local pricing vs online pricing relative to a gun I might be interested in, an FDE Springfield TRP CC AOS. The first is the listing on the site my LGS uses as their distributor. I can order...

2nd Day Air, Buyer Beware - Package Tours Country with Flair!

Or, from the customers side, maybe the LGS’ could stock what customers actually want?

2nd Day Air, Buyer Beware - Package Tours Country with Flair!

So I bought a gun Labor Day weekend (pictured in another post), it shipped from dealer 2nd Day Air (no cost to me) and arrived when it was supposed to at my LGS (Thursday, 4 Sep 25). I also ordered an inexpensive IWB holster from same dealer so I could carry it while I await a quality holster...

1911 TRP AOS — Modern Red Dots on a Classic Design

Agreed. If I were to acquire a TRP, it would be the CC model (with bobtail). I have an Emissary .45 AOS and an optic for it. After I took it to the range the first time, I decided I didn’t need an optic on it. Granted my range only goes to 15 yards, but I’m happy putting all rounds into a...

    Freedom of choice or tryanny?

Did you miss this part of my post? “ I’m all for giving folks the opportunity to get vaccinated. And if a government requires them, they should actually be tested for the appropriate amount of time on the appropriate amount of subjects (which should ALL be volunteers).”

    Freedom of choice or tryanny?

There are many other things that caused those deaths besides just lack of vaccinations. Please peruse (or, in your words, research for decades and not a couple of hours) such things as homogenization of dairy, lack of nutrition (essential vitamins), etc. It wasn’t just vaccinations that...

    Intervention Fail - Well, Partially

Oh yeah, forgot that part. It has the “Extreme De-Horn Melt for Carry” option. Haven’t tried it yet. I ordered a holster with it (well day later) from Modern Warrior to be shipped UPS 2nd Day Air that is apparently lost in Kentucky somewhere (label created 2 Sep, in UPS possession 3 Sep...

    Intervention Fail - Well, Partially

Thanks, that’s how I’m trying to get my EDX9 redone as well, so they’ll match, black over FDE. It will have the same optic, though a 3.5 vice 6.5 MOA dot. Won’t know until they call to verify my custom work request (after they receive the gun) on the two tone. I did the tune up package #3...

    Intervention Fail - Well, Partially

So back on August 28th I posted the below thread requesting folks talk me out of spending $$$ on a Staccato. https://www.thearmorylife.com/forum/threads/need-an-intervention-asap.23742/ Everyone did a great job and I really haven’t thought about a Staccato since AND I finally sent in my old...

What have you bought firearms related in the last 48 hours?

    Let’s see…1/2 case American Eagle .45/230g, 6 Ed Brown .45 magazines, 6 SFX9 magazines, 1 Grey Man Solutions kydex OWB SFX9 holster, and 2 t-shirts and a hat!

    6 guns that NEVER jam?

Sounds like when I took Kimber K6s and shot 70 .357 Magnum rounds after I’d fired 100 .38 Sp +P rounds through an Ruger LCR .38 Spl +P. About 40 of those Magnums in, I put on shooting gloves so I could finish. Next day, my shooting hand thumb base joint was so sore I could barely move my...

    6 guns that NEVER jam?

Pshaw…who would want a gun that never jams? How would you practice your malfunction drills while on the range? In preparation, of course, for trying to employ one of the “guns that never jams” when you need it most when it will inevitably jam. Have people never met “Murphy”?

    Holster that actually fits

My leather holsters work much better as well, when the holster is not made for specific gun (like the 1911 “type” guns). I still think all of them should be able to afford $60 molds for anything that comes out (if they’re available). Not like they’re not making big bank on holster builds. And...

    Show off your 1911

As I mentioned elsewhere (and take no credit whatsoever for the statement)… “I have too many guns… …said no one, EVER!”

    Holster that actually fits

When I first got mine, back in 2019, I ordered a 1911 kydex holster from somewhere thinking the same thing. My EDCX9 would not fit that holster in no way, shape, or form…too wide. The length looked right, but I wasn’t about to repeatedly cram it in and out, the kydex rubbing the finish the...

    Holster that actually fits

This, 100%. I tended to want to buy recently released guns with current technology, or the offbeat things. I remember when I first bought recently released Glock Gen 5 G23 and G27…it took FOREVER for makers to make holsters for them (the slides were just wider enough from the Gen 4, the Gen 4...

    Need an Intervention - ASAP

I could be wrong, but I think I’ve read the CZ “Compact” has a safety so you can carry cocked and locked like a 1911. My “Carry” has a decocker so definitely a first round DA (unless there is time to fully cock the hammer). I’ve never minded either SAO or DA/SA.

    Need an Intervention - ASAP

Well, the EDCx9 headed for the WC mothership today. Took a bit longer because after I got the shipping label from WC (where customer service told me they had a contract with UPS and I could) and then went to ship, I was politely informed by UPS that only an FFL holder can ship a firearm. So...

    At the range today

Sorry for your loss and for your having to guide your dad through dementia prior. I find range time (especially when alone - indoor range, so staff monitoring on camera) a great time for reflection. As mentioned a few times above, we all grieve in our own way and if anyone questioned your...

    Which gun would you have

If you let your neighbors know what you have for protection, gun-wise, then some will know exactly what ammunition “might” be behind your doors. Some that need it, or think they need it, will have no qualms about a full on attempt to make it their own. Not saying they’d succeed, but no sense...
