    Mil-Spec 1911 “Retro Custom”

Hell yeah. I never used the mags that came with my TRP. Been running Wilson 47-D from jump. Never had any feed issues even with HP.

    Mil-Spec 1911 “Retro Custom”

Sweet. What kind of magazines you run?

    Mil-Spec 1911 “Retro Custom”

Older model TRP in standard government. Things I didn't want like two piece full length guide rod. Went GI rod while adding flat wire recoil spring. All from Wilson. Baer plug. Not much sense in needing a allen for a basic field strip to me. Got some top focals from SSP for the range. They help.

    Open carry is for fools!

If open carry is what you like ok. Inso doing you're making yourself a target in my humble opinion. Just like playing poker "never show your hand"until it's time.

N Neither do I. I believe these rounds are probably circa 82-86.

    Hirtenberger ammo?

Looking for some info on Hirtenberger 7.62×51 AP leftover from the cold war. Acquired some not to long ago. Haven't shot any yet and most ranges won't let me try any on flat iron. Any good?

    First Springfield

Been there and done that. Always wanted a 1911 till about 10 years ago. Couldn't afford a Wilson or high end. Got the older Springfield TRP somewhere halfway... Still more than I wanted to spend. Worth every penny.

    First Springfield

I have a few old school's from Springfield. Unfortunately don't have a high-power. The SA-35 looks great and just about all I've read and seen on YouTube, I know I want one. Congratulations on the fine pistol.

Is the .45’s Stopping Power a Myth?

No mention of the Thompson LaGarde test and the Anti Cow Projectile 🤔

Is the .45’s Stopping Power a Myth?

Same here. Got a 642 myself. Be 68 next month and a 1911 is somewhat cumbersome. However in a distance situation a good 1911 could be more beneficial. I'll take the 642 for basic up close and personal. A gas station pumping gas in a neighborhood I'm not familiar with. The ATM. Shopping. Good...
