    Burnt ends

Would love to take you up on that! I really do miss my "Q'n". And the lines about 'well done' steak are all great ... heard most of them over time, but they never fail. And just to be clear ... I did hate to give up the old homestead, but due to age and health, and little to no family to impose...

    Burnt ends

2 things always bring more flavor to the party ... FAT and BONE! I won't even buy a pork chop without a little fat around the edges and a bone along the back. I love a good tri-tip roast done almost any method, just never tried smokin' one. Always thought of them as just a little too lean for...

    Burnt ends

Wow, it seems I got two of you mixed up. I started out replying to javbike, then somehow got off track and ended up talking to Jfal. At any rate, I've never made candy with a tri-tip so really can't comment too much. I'm sure it would be good though since the tri-tip is a fine chunk of meat...

    Burnt ends

Those "Masterbuilt" rigs do a great job as they were designed. But electric smokers just don't quite turn out the same product as a charcoal or stick burner, and even though they tend to reach the same temps and are far easier to control, it just seems to take longer. It looks like you did a...

    Burnt ends

"Burnt ends", with the right sauce, no matter how they're made are like candy! Brisket point ends are my favorite, but almost any real meat is good. Even 'pork belly' burnt ends. jj

    THE BEST QUOTE EVER

In it's own time this was pretty true, in today's time it's even more imperative!!!! "We must reject the idea that every time a law's broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions." Ronald Reagan

    Another lawsuit

That's probably not likely to happen. In our litigious society today, it often comes down to dollars and cents. Since we no longer have a 'justice' system, but more a 'legal' system, it just makes sense to the bean counters to take the path of least corp cost. That usually comes down to settle...

My Birthday gift from my Wife: Black Hills Leather IWB/OWB Custom Holster for my SA 1911

Nice looking leather there. I have a couple "Black Hills" owb holsters, both that same color, one for my PF9, the other for my SA Hellcat. Like them very much. I've had the first one for more than 4-5 years and still looks good.

reloading questions/advice if you would please?

How the heck did you find that? I've mentioned before I'm no computer guru, and have a difficult time finding stuff like that, but I didn't even see a category that looked right. In fact, I still have a hard time just spelling 'IBM' .... ;) Thanks much. jj

    How many…….

I very, very rarely take a gun from the safe to the truck without a quick function check. Always been that way ever since dad said "because I said so!"

reloading questions/advice if you would please?

Old_Me, do you have a part # or other identifier for that wrench. I went to Etsy.com but couldn't find anything like it. Thanks. jj

reloading questions/advice if you would please?

Old_Me, that's a sweet little wrench. I can see how it would work much better then the short, little, plastic ones. Did you also buy a left handed one? You know at some point after tightening them they'll have to be loosened. :sneaky::rolleyes:

It’s one in a million—until it happens to you. WEAR YOUR EYEPRO!

HaHa, different strokes for diff ....... etc. One of my all time favorite meals and one of the first 'wild game' meals my new bride learned to cook for me about 54 years ago. Haven't had a chance to bring any home in several years now, but where we live now the trees are full of them. Just...

How convenient. 2 tier system at work.

I'm no lawyer, haven't even stayed at a Holiday Inn in years ... but I always thought the job of a defense lawyer was to use every legal means possible to ensure the accused a fair and impartial trial. I know that may sound like a pretty insignificant difference, but in our world today it often...

It’s one in a million—until it happens to you. WEAR YOUR EYEPRO!

With all due respect flash, this is potentially a serious cause of secondary poisoning of birds of prey and even other prey mammals. The squirrel is sickened and slow, the prey animal catches him and eats him, thus the secondary poisoning. It often kills the prey animal/bird and sometimes even...

    What’s your Favorite Reloading Press?

There's little argument about the quality of the Dillon, and typically the RCBS presses are right close up there as well. However, for me I've found the Dillon to be over-engineered and over priced for the job they do .... reload ammo. The RCBS's are more reasonably engineered and far more...

It’s one in a million—until it happens to you. WEAR YOUR EYEPRO!

I've always considered the squirrel to be the 'biggest little' game, or the 'smallest big' game there is to hunt. We're just lucky they can't shoot back! Glad it was a near miss Hans and not something really serious. I'm sure the cold beer worked wonders. (y)
