    Sportsmans Warehouse sale

They're calling it Range Days. The flyer is chock full of sale guns. I'm gun poor at the moment, but there are some really good deals on a plethora of brands and types. I have no financial connection with SW.

    My Ruger lightweight came in

I checked my heart rate while waiting for the gun to come in. It was normal, though I thought my heart was a bit loud. I'd never used the ffl I used this time before, then I got a text from UPS saying it was delivered. We were in the middle of a bloody movie so I waited over an hour. I finally...

Cancon event coming up in Phoenix

I just got an announcement for this event at Ben Avery shooting range in Phoenix from Gunbroker. Tickets are $50/person April 18-20. This gives you the ability to shoot suppressed all day. I don't know if the lines would be like Disneyland or how it all works, but it looks like fun.

    Recommend 1 powder for handguns

I need to order or buy powder for handguns. Most common types reloaded: .32 mag., .38 Spec., .45 Schofield, .45 ACP and .45 Colt. Not as often: .380 ACP and 9mm. I'm currently am using Titegroup, but have used 231, Bullseye, American Select, Clays and WSL. Prefer 8 lb. kegs under $280.

Tisas US Army has a mean bite

I ran a few magazines through my Tisas after the Wild Bunch match yesterday and it didn't take long for the hammer to bite me. The web of my hand goes over the grip safety and the hammer comes down on that, giving me a nice pinch. I'll need to wear a piece of tape there if I want to shoot 150...

    MEC shot bottle broke

While loading some shotshells, the shot bottle broke at the neck on my MEC Sizemaster. It was cold in the garage and the shaking evidently caused the neck to break and shot went everywhere. I ordered a new one from Amazon. I'm wondering if the bottle support would help protecting them in the...

    Grips came in

Despite receiving an email saying the grips would be delayed until the 9th, they came yesterday (5th). Dark blue/black goes nicely with the gray cerakote finish. Came with screws, o rings and wrench. Nice fit and I can reach the magazine button easier. Less than $20 delivered.

Tisas US Army .45 came today

I had an issue with my first FFL. Finally called the online store and they suggested another FFL. I did that, they sent it Tuesday and got it today. Mag release is a bit stiff, can't wait to try it. Machining looks very nice. Loaded a couple from a mag and chambered nicely. Barrel bushing seems...

New Wolf magazine springs came in the mail

I bought a 10 pack of Wolf 1911 magazine springs. I'll start changing them out tomorrow since it's football day today. I'll find out how they work at the next match.

    Shipping costs

I almost bought two magazines online the other day for about $32, then I checked the shipping and it was $18. Entire guns can be shipped for $20 or so (or free) and they want $18? The only other work around I've noticed is you purchase a threshold of maybe $100 and then they would ship free...

Black Friday gun sale at Sportsmans Warehouse

Some tasty deals there. If you don't have a local store, you might be able to have one sent to your LGS. I've spent too much to indulge, but thought someone might want to know.

    Almost scammed

I ordered some bullets cause I got a $100 gift coupon for bullets as a door prize at our State Championship. A few hours later I got a text saying my address was incomplete and the box was held up in the post office. It had USPS in the link. I almost clicked on it. I checked the tracking and the...

    Score!

I ordered some .38 Special bullets yesterday and then today found about 1K in my cabinet. Not sure if the wife's rifle likes them, but mine does as do my revolvers.

Pistol primers $5.99/100, limit 1K at Sportsman's WH

Stopped in at Sportsman's Warehouse while on our Costco run. Bought 1K and wife bought 1K. That's the best price I've seen in some time.

    Anyone with technology issues?

I admit it, I have issues with tech. Going on 70, you would think my wealth of experience would cover this stuff, but nooooooooooo. I built a computer 30 years ago, but give me a new phone or tv. Bah! Installed a new big screen tv yesterday and had to take some Tylenol afterwards. Boy did my...

    .45 Colt load with Titegroup

I discovered a while back that my Pedersoli lightning rifle preferred a longer OAL. You wouldn't think a few thousandths wouldn't make a difference, but they did. I ran out of my Winchester Superlite powder and started using Titegroup. I had a quantity of 185 gr. bullets (poly and moly coated)...

Found two accessories I want from Uniquetek

A company called Uniquetek has an array of accessories for the reloader, two of which I'll order soon. One is a bearing kit for the Dillon 650 which makes it smoother to operate and the other is a taper crimp die for MEC shotshell presses. The taper is slight, but makes for easier loading and...
