I mounted my Vortex Viper PST (44mm) on my 308 with medium rings. Shot it yesterday. I cannot get a good cheek weld, scope is too high, about 1 inch. I've got a solid 4/10th of an inch clearance between the scope and barrel. Low rings will get me 1/10 inch. Picatinny rail height is 4/10th inch...
