SAINT Victor B5 on the Combat Rifle Course

Thanks for the verification! Indeed strange, but maybe it has to do with having an ambidextrous safety on hers while my version does not. Anyway, appreciate your help!

SAINT Victor B5 on the Combat Rifle Course

Maybe a strange question. My wife just acquired her Saint Victor B5. The safety on hers only goes 45 degrees, while my Saint Victor non-B5 goes 90 degrees. Anyone else have that same behavior?

Update 03/01/2020.....Tumblers..... Going round and round!

Here in the PacNW, my sunshine tends to be a little wet. There's a reason Oregon and Washington are so green. ;-) And, well, Bonneville Power does happen to be in my backyard. lol

Update 03/01/2020.....Tumblers..... Going round and round!

Thanks!! Interesting you clean once before decapping, then clean again. First time I've heard that. I have the Frankford drying unit coming too, hoping that works well.

Update 03/01/2020.....Tumblers..... Going round and round!

Did you finalize on a process yet, and the Dawn / Lemi Shine ratio for the F.A.R.T.? Mine is supposed to arrive tomorrow. Looking forward to it!

If I have to add powder during a session (because I failed to adequately plan), then I basically start over with the checks. It's usually stable after 2 loads through the powder station, but I double that just because I feel a bit better about accuracy. (Ok ok, maybe I'm just a little anal about...

Sorry, just saw your post. I have the Dillon automatic powder measure on my 650. I run 3-4 cases through, dumping powder back in the hopper, then measure the next few. Usually by then the measurement is within .1 - .2 gn on each. I then sample periodically as I'm reloading just to make sure all...

Let's Clean them up! The Brass that is........

Also curious if anyone is using ultrasonic cleaners and what their experience is like?

    The Reloading Bench

Right. Ingrained (no pun intended... well maybe a little ;-)) on the "start low and work up slowly" approach. It's the dealing with necked cartridges, trimming, etc., that I haven't done before. And then of course buying the dies, shell plates, feed adapters, etc., for the Dillon 650 when I...

    The Reloading Bench

9mm & 45ACP for me, may add .380. Still feeling like a novice after a little over a year reloading, so thinking about loading 308 for my M1A makes me super nervous! ;-)

What's your favorite source for Bullets?

Ok, I really can't resist, and it's sorta off topic to boot, but... (takes a deep breath) You guys all know that the U.S. names their ships USS Something - with USS standing for United States Ship. England names them HMS Something - HMS is Her (or His) Majesty's Ship Italy names theirs AMB...

Let's Clean them up! The Brass that is........

Question on the wet method - how long does it take to dry the brass out afterwards, and how do you do it? Oven, fan, ?? Thanks for the above! I'm doing the picture on the right at the moment. Always wiping shells down after the dry clean, and yes the dust is irritating. I take it outside to do...

Yeah, my 650 is very consistent as well. Just have a cousin that has been reloading with his buddies for a decade or more. When they tell me to be careful even on my Dillon if I'm using something like Titegroup or Clays, I'm going to err on the side of caution. ;-)

Distractions happen sometimes, and I'm training myself that when that happens to just clear the reloading stations and start again. At that point I should be good. I'd throw a powder-check system on the Dillon, but with the bullet feeder on I just don't have enough stations.

Hodgdon & Alliant anyway, will be trying some of those powder recommendations. Really do want to get to a cleaner powder, though the Ramshot Silhouette works just fine. Only thing I'm a bit leery on is moving to one of the powders that take very few grains. I worry about a double load and not...

Thanks Texas. I have that doc and use it for my 9mm and the Ramshot Silhouette powder. Seems like some of the other manufacturers are willing to let you retrieve a particular load, but not in a document format like Western has. I quite like the doc.

    Primer~~~~Primer

Yep, hopefully good for .380, 9mm, and 45acp

    Primer~~~~Primer

Thanks! That was my thought as well, and I wasn't seeing anything different in the Lyman manual.

    Primer~~~~Primer

BTW, to add to the 45ACP quirk, Blazer Brass 45 also uses the small pistol primers. So then a question to the group: If you reload both (and I can on my Dillon 650), are you changing the powder load between small and large primer cases?

Supposedly middle of the road in terms of min/max load...
