someone i know, just recently bought one from the bait/gun store i go to. she told me it's her first 45 ACP.

the manager at the store was telling me, it's a hot seller when they get them in.

i went to another guns tore (the much bigger one i always go to), and they don't have any right now

so, anyone have one of these..??

most likely, i will be buying one for me.

the LGS has my name on a list, and he sells just below retail, + i get a small discount as well, for being a member of their "buy a gun a week club"

I had the original M&P .45 with a safety, I disliked it so much I removed the safety and put the plastic plugs in.

the MP 2.0 came in yesterday, but i got the email like at 4PM, and they close at 5, so i would not have made it there.

i changed out the back strap from "medium" to small, fits me better.

only 2 mags come with it, and the store had none in stock for this model.

field stripped it, and cleaned and lubed.

really no lube to be found, just like my recent Beretta purchase

off to the club (maybe) monday morning with at least 100 rds.

i want to shoot it, before i order up another couple of mags..

applied for the $100 rebate as well, by certified snail mail, online rebate page was not working.

took the new S&W MP 45 to the club, and 100 rds of ammo.

factory and reloaded.

a couple of pics, for as long as they stay here and don't turn into boxes with red x's..

also with either ammo shot, doesn't it look like "keyholing" with the ammo..????

any ideas/opinions on why/how..?????

i failed to mention a few things..

this gun is pretty darned good.

in fact, i'd venture to say, it is MUCH better than the G-21 that i had.....

the grip is way better as well, might just be the contour of the grip. my G-21 had finger grips, which i liked very much, but this S&W seems much better

seems (to me) that the recoil is lesser(??) than the G-21, and overall, seemingly better weighted? even though both guns are relatively close in weights.

i dunno....just (to me) better overall to the G-21.......

i held off buying extra magazines for it......now that i am impressed with this M&P, i'll be searching for a couple of more.

they come as 10 round magazines...

but supposedly since the base plate can be removed, i cannot get them..???

well, the gal at Midway, had someone pull my order to confirm whether or not the base plate can be removed, apparently it can....so no go from Midway in getting magazines, thanks RI state legislators.

well, Natchez has the magazines, about $3.00 more each, i only wanted 2

they accepted my order, so if there is anything wrong, i'd hope they would stop the sale, otherwise i have to surmise (not assume) these are good to go.

there wasn't any "pop up" to deny these when i ordered them, like on Midway's site.

i'll update as needed.

The restricted state S&W mags have a large plastic block on the bottom 3rd of the mag.

ok, the ones in the picture from Natchezz, just has the baseplate, not the block that you have shown, but i don't know if it is removable or not. the factory mags do not have a removable base plate.

from what i gather reading about the mags, if they are extra capacity, they'd stick out further from the grip/magwell, with that block.

at this point and time, i'd have to leave it up to Natchez to inform me it's a removable base plate, or not.

The mags that I have still go in flush but they only hold 10 rounds. I've since bought 5 to 6 17 round mags for that pistol.

i gotta wonder too, if Natchez would epoxy them if need be, which might be the reason for the $3.00 price difference?

or maybe include a tube of epoxy..???

yes, i know prices vary from retailer to retailer, just a thought..???

for instance, i am perfectly happy with my 8 rd 1911 mags,

10 rounds of 45 ACP can be heavier, as in my G-30 and this new S&W, as it is now

Ok, if I may ask, how does the rifling look In the barrel, is it crisp or kinda smooth, just wondering, also my best guess it’s the S&B ammo.

the barrel looks "normal" to me, rifling isn't like say what a Glock's would look like, but not smooth..??? as in no rifling???

not really sure how you meant to have asked that....

another thing too, i am thinking, is that at the club, there is no "backing board" when we hang up targets, they are "free to sway" with each shot.

unlike the range (where i had planned on going today), we staple the targets to a cardboard backer, which holds the targets in place.

i'll take pics today as well of this trip.

both my reloaded ammo, and the S&B were of 230 gr.

of course, my ammo has the starting charge of 4.0, i don't know the charge of the S&B....

i also deleted all my past range target pics, they were useless to keep in the files, so i cannot say how the S&B acted in the past?

i also field stripped and lubed the gun when i got it home form the LGS...

i did not scrub the barrel, i just ran a wet patch thru it, dried it, then gave it some lube (internally like i always do)

the gun was made in 2021, in fact, 11/8/2021, and sat in a warehouse until last week when i bought it.....jeez, for a popular gun, that sells fast, and hard to find (as i was told by 2 different gun stores), why was this one sitting..????
