I was wondering if anyone else had experience with that? I’m not sure if they Loctite the screw in, but if so, how would I remove it? My Type D stock got the rubber stripped off the sling swivel and by trying to fix it, I made it worse. So I’m swapping with a Type E stock with a trapdoor.

Did you try to remove the screw? Do you have a set of gunsmith screwdriver or bits?
I have not, and have a set of screwdriver bits for a gunsmith torque screwdriver. Historically, I strip the hell out of flathead screws that are Loctited though.

First, clear the weapon.......

Second, remove the upper, and the buffer, and buffer spring...

Next, Kroil, or some kind of penatrating oil down the buffer tube to soak the threads of the screw.......

THEN.........

WAIT a little while........

Patients, and it'll work itself out

Remove the buffer tube from the lower? I’d definitely mess that up and jack up the aluminum flats.
