Bersa 1911s?

Sld1959

Hellcat
I see that Bersa has introduced a series of American made 1911 pistols. Know absolutely nothing more than that. I do know that I have owned two of thier pistols and found them very reliable, Rugged and reasonable. I know others who have owned or own them and everyone has had similar results.

Am interested in hearing more about them.

Good friend of mine recently retired from running an indoor range in another state. Bersas came up and he said that they had two of them (some sort of .380s), rented them out frequently and took very little care of them. He said they amazed him by NEVER malfunctioning or breaking--"They just ran and ran no matter what." I was impressed.

I’ve always heard good stuff about the (.380) Berta’s. Never, ever heard a negative comment.
The only negative comment I've heard about them is just breakage from heavy use over the course of a few years. And that's kinda normal, every machine I'm aware of has a service life. I've got a Thunder .22 and I'm in the process of wearing that little SOB out. I put a thousand rounds through it so far. It's performance has been average for a .22 pistol - they're all finnicky with what ammo they like and don't like.

I've been tempted on more than 1 occasion to scoop up one of their Thunder .380s. The only thing stopping me is that I genuinely have no need for one, but they're definitely a sleeper pistol that don't seem to get their due.

I've got no reason to think their 1911 models would be any lower quality, but we'll see once they're on the market.
