Good one @Mike H. some good points that go along with the B.O.B threads. Brought up some good points such as a disaster. In my neck of the woods that is something I don’t, or shouldn’t have to concern myself with. (A mud slide). That being said planning and preparing for a disaster that could be related to your location could dictate how you pack your bag.
Good article . I always see where most B.O.B. articles state to have a map & compass, which is good advice. What goes along with those two items is knowing how to use them. Lots of info online concerning basic land navigation / orienteering skills if one needs to learn them. Thinking worst-case scenario(s), the need to go cross-country might arise.
