Insurance Company’s for your Firearms?

For many years I had a firearms policy from a company that was endorsed by the NRA.Due to economic hardships at that time, we let it expire and everything fall under our general homeowners. As you can imagine this does not come anywhere near the amount of coverage that we had. I cannot remember the name of the company. What companies do you folks use for your firearms?
Thoughts and experiences greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I just took out a different policy from my insurance agent which covers my stuff and at a good price, I just have to keep the serial numbers, receipts and pics of each in case I need to file a claim, and no, I keep this information, insurance agent doesn’t.

Ok, I misunderstood this, I thought it was if you insured your guns, not insurance if you get into a confrontation, sorry, but I don’t believe in that kind of insurance, big waste of money, but that’s me, sorry I misunderstood….

honestly, i am fearful of even inquiring to my home owners insurance, for fear that even doing so, will set off a chain of events to cancel me, and honestly, not too many write policies for an old home like mine, with out MAJOR upgrades to the home, like NO asbestos, NO lead pipes/paint, nd other major renovations.

the AAA for example, WILL NOT insure me if a fire truck can't get along all 4 sides of my house....like WTF..??

I LIVE in a densely populated CITY, what are the fire trucks supposed to do, plow down my neighbors houses..???

forget about Amica, they too want 1000% remodeled homes only, wiring, plumbing, lead free, etc,etc....

i'll take my chances, at my age, if anything gets stolen, i'll report it, and move on.

Dude, why would you want to give your money to a company that would cancel you for having guns ?

Personally anyone I employ ( and you are employing them, just like doctors, lawyers, banks, etc.) who even gives a hint of anti-gun bias is immediately fired. They’re not doing you a favor by insuring you.

pretty much also goes with me NOT wanting to let them know i have guns.

i cannot afford getting canceled.

seems trivial to maybe a few, but i had a small piece if wood fall from my house, due to old age, the letter (with a photo) said "get it fixed by this date XXXX, or will will cancel your policy"

like after 50 + years with them.

previous to that day too, wouldn't you know it, they sent out an inspector to check on all the houses they insure...frankly? i think it's a way to get out of the east coast market.

like any other insurance company of late, pulling out of Fl, or CA, due to the storm damages, of wild fires, and the huge payouts.

That’s like living in bizarro world. As I said, they aren’t doing you a favor taking your money every month. Unless your house is a piece of crap or you have a lot of claims the concept of an insurance company not wanting to insure you is foreign to me. My wife regularly shops around for better rates. I’ve never once had a company refuse to insure me and I live literally on a river. From my dining room table the river bank is currently about 80’ away.

i would need flood insurance if that were close to me.

Our homeowner's insurance covers our firearms with a rider. I have an inventory with photos, serial numbers and receipts (for some). That's all they require. We also have them stored in appropriate fire proof safes. Home owner's insurance up here hasn't gotten too stupid yet, but as this town grows...we shall see. We had a bad hail storm last year and we need a new roof and new siding. Actually, there are many homes here that are being repaired because of that storm. They don't make the siding our home has anymore and the insurance company is dragging its heels with our contractor because it's going to cost double what they thought to replace our siding. Now they want to calculate a depreciation thing to it. My husband nearly flipped his :poop:. He has been with them for decades and we have never gone that way, always replacement cost.

Sorry, I digress. But yeah, we're noticing the changes in how insurance companies are operating up here too. It's trickling uphill...

see, that's the BS that gets me..."they require" things...i can understand serial numbers....but then "some" may require a particular safe, then maybe an alarm system, then maybe a guard shack, maybe a moat with gators or piranha, then maybe a LARS rocket launcher, or SAM's, (sarcasm), but in some areas of the country, insurance companies rule...don't follow the rules to the letter, and you get dropped.

Mine don’t even require serial numbers. It’s a rider for a specific amount. A valued policy. Unlike flood insurance which isn’t. Meaning an adjuster will come out and tell you they’ll replace the bottom 2’ of drywall and insulation. So if you don’t want your house to smell like a river you end up taking out a loan so you can gut it properly.

i was going to get coverage for our tv's, stereo, computer, printer, and other entertainment items.

was told up front...pictures and serial numbers, and sales receipts.....

i told the salesman, "no thanks, too much BS, and to only get a percentage of the value".

now, frankly, i not only save the sales receipts, but the owners manuals. as at least me and the wife have a record of when the items were bought...as a result too, we just do not buy expensive appliances...

"walmart specials" for us.

and no insurance on them....not even "replacement coverage" at the cash register, if they break down
