Lead Safety

Worked for a bullet casting company for a number of years. Everything said in the article is true and very important. Our greatest danger was the smelting of scrap lead that may have moisture trapped in it. A few drops of water can cause an explosion of molten lead that goes everywhere. The good old days!

How the heck did I make it to my age after growing up during an era when I was surrounded by toxins and carcinogens? I grew up in homes with walls coated with lead-based paint. I've fired thousands of lead .22 LR bullets. I ate quail with lead shot baked within them. I played on streets with gas fumes emitted from neighbors' cars that containing lead. I was frequently exposed to second-hand cigarette smoke. I rode bikes without helmets protecting my noggin. I must've inhaled pounds of dirt playing baseball on dirt fields.

When did Americans cede to our omnipotent federal government absolute authority to protect us from ourselves?
