Looking to buy 1911 in 10mm

I've fallen in love with the 10mm cartridge. I'd love to have a 1911 in 10mm. Looking at Springfield all I see are two tone, I'm not a fan, everything else seems discontinued. I looked at some Kimber 1911's, I like the black ice. I'm not however "in love" with it. I do not want the front rail so that seems to limit to amount out there. What i did like about the Kimber is it comes with Truglo TFX-Pro sights. These are something I would add to the 1911 I buy. The ability to use a optical sight would be a plus. I'd rather have an all blued/black model. I'm not opposed to a used firearm, BUT if price between new and used is only a few dollars I'm new all the way as I know how I treat my firearms.

What do you all have to say?

You may have to go used market for a 10mm style you like in 10mm

I know you said you'd rather have an all blued model, but I'd seriously suggest taking a look at the Ronin. Mine has been great.

If your price range is $2k and above, then definitely Dan Wesson. Someday I'll own their Specialist in 10mm.

Here's one I've been looking at. Not an exact match to what you're looking for but has most of the features you listed. Hans is right on about the Dan Wesson Bruin if you can afford it. Here's the link:

Thanks but no. I've had two M&P .45acp they are long gone. I'm not a fan of that platform. This is 1911 only.

If it only was all melonite.
I'm just not a fan of a silver or two tone. Trust me I do like the Springfield 1911's, all of them that I'm a big fan of are discontinued.
I'll keep my eye on the used market. If you guys see one please post a link.

Rock Island makes several 10mm 1911 that I've read nothing but raves about. Some here lift their noses at firearms made outside the US though....www.armscor.com...(regardless of many SA offerings are now off-shore).

I do not own one, but have ingested a multitude of positive information about them. I have the Ronin in 10mm. All good except the front sight.

I agree. The fiber optic front sight I'd remove it immediately.

The Ruger SR pistols are a good choice.

If you could find the Ruger SR night watchman 10mm in the Talo exclusive finish you may like that option also.

That is a option. Are they series 80 or 70? That funky safety on the Kimbers is really the only thing that gives me pause. My Kimber was back when they were made in Clackamas Or.😍it!!
Thanks.

I think one of their full-rail models would make be a solid choice for a 10mm 1911.

I’m a big RIA 1911 fan.

Well I'm going to go look and fondle a Kimber Black ice 10mm tomorrow. I called 7-8 semi-local dealers within 100mi today. While many had some in excess of $2500 which is too much for my back pocket. One did have a Black Ice and said it had been sitting there for almost 2yrs. The owner told me over the phone that if I liked it he would make me a heck of a deal. I asked what exactly did that mean? He said he had it priced at $1500 with no interest, if I was interested he would go $75 over cost which would bring it to about $900 give or take a little with his quick math. It does happen to be that gray'ish color which I'm not terribly fond of.
So off I go tomorrow to give a look see.
