Hey gang!

I got these delivered that morning and I couldn't wait to try them out.

Yes, just a couple of 10 round CMC magazines for my Garrison. (Spoiler: They worked flawlessly.) I packed them in my gear bag and, since I was doing some NRA volunteer work there that evening anyway, I went a little early to Fletcher Arms Lake Country so I could shoot a few rounds.

When I arrived I found out that the USCCA folks were there shooting media for a Smith and Wesson promotion. I had to wait until they were done at 4:00pm to get a lane. My volunteer event started at 5:30pm. I guess I'll have to keep it under 200 rounds this session.

The USCCA folks were done on time. I'll give them that. I proceeded to Lane #10 (my favorite lane) for some practice. I started with my Garrison and its new 10 round magazines. I shot five B-8 targets, just trying to hit the bullseye. Some targets were better than others. All were at 10 yards.

I really tried hard on #3.

AL9nZEW2WHo0RQTSKD5UVH6WvRWWHh-dWbxSidwsAsC7x_drndoOKoxYR7lOigwplPoOaT-O88oiKOeBEwKQwhFx0vz8M4IC2JyqVUwfZ8-gqOrbRqH70VNzUwL4vzSmvandePf1Rqq_jbORsAKuWIFqhya4VQ=w1236-h927-no

Then I slacked off something on #4.

I tried to get it back for #5. I guess I did a little better.

OK, that's 50 rounds from the .45. Now, on to the XD9 for 50 rounds, B-8 targets at 10 yards. You'd think I'd be warmed up by now, but the XD9 has totally different sights. (Yeah, that's it!) :ROFLMAO:

Now I just have to tighten up the group a bit, and raise it up a little.

How can I get eight hits in the 10 ring (line breaks? :ROFLMAO: ) and then have those two flyers? Drat.

Actually, that was my last B-8 center. I didn't print any this morning. So I put up a 1/3 size USPSA silhouette and sent it back out to 10 yards. It's not the best for these old eyes. 🤓

AL9nZEWnAnbKkgRdTcO9mY1yfhOevw4dc57okOfSBdKbGKoP8uqAuNYMv4e9rCa6tPl68UHJ-E1zODhWUXl4mBIenhGIvXfmlDEziniHcrZOZfY3ooYI11-LdnQL3LmlTl4-bRqtENm52aMTD3VaV-FNdMZoIA=w1236-h927-no

It came back looking like this. One of these days I'll get them all in the alpha zone. ;)

AL9nZEVOQW5p9PNvqRrOZUXjCnzx6xKOCVR4sprO9qMJgjL1i3PxFl9sGp-E4nPyZ5t-m3qZjtW7_9r9_ykz8UxQBsnwLQa8qzFA5z5e3VeVKfPPhXygtA_z-VBgnrcBAcAS6BVWt40XGYKuANQwY7jYCyZtAg=w1236-h927-no

Then I had some fun, five magazine's worth, with my P22. I started at the center mass bullseye at 5 yards (I know it says '7' but that's wrong) to test my sight picture. The front sight is a little too tall so you have to either adjust your sight picture or your hold. Then, having thought I'd gotten it all figured out, moved it out to 10 yards to shoot the other three bullseyes on top. I did the best with the head shots.

Then I put one more magazine on center mass at 10 yards. Just about the same results as at 5 yards. At least I'm consistent.

And that was it, time for my volunteer work. We were filling out postcards in one of the classrooms that evening. @KillerFord1977 should be glad to hear, I have a private lesson scheduled with one of the highly regarded instructors next week. We are going to work on my accuracy. Hopefully he'll be able to teach this old dog some new tricks, at least enough to lessen the number of flyers. I wonder if he can teach these old eyes to see better? 😄 Let's hope my next set of targets in my next range report look better.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

Glad to see you’re having fun.

I look forward to see what your private lesson reveals

Never to old or experienced to learn.

I look forward to my advanced classes.
Rounds down range is better than work. Unless rounds down range is work, then its work. 😎
