Set up 45 Long colt RCBS Seater Die using 230 grain round nose 45 FMJ, the overall length (OAL) was 39.58 mm
When I switched to 225 gr 45 FTX without changing the Seater Die, the OAL was 41.56 mm.
Rechecked with 230 grain round nose 45 FMJ and OAL was, 39.39 mm.
Nominal for 45 Colt OAL is 39.560 mm, max is 40.64 mm
Any thoughts as to why the FTX is so much longer?
Would there be any issue loading at this length?
Did a fit check in my SAA and there does not appear to be an issue?
