Second best .45 acp defensive bullet

For reloading?

Remington Golden Saber. Next would be a Hornady XTP.

Federal recently released the HydraShok as a component bullet...but I don’t think, with the exception of occasional overrun stock, they offer the HST bullet as a reloading component.

This is what I have in my XDs .45 and my .38 snub nose. 230 gr for the .45 ACP and 130 gr for the .38 special.

I am still looking in my area for 147 gr HSTs for my 9 mm.
That's what I load up in all my 9mm as as far as concealed carry. It seems to be very consistent at the range as far as not much recoil, it seems to be a very consistent round and the numbers seem very good as far as its performance. I've been buying it on a pretty regular basis from this site for the last year, they seem to keep a good supply of it in 9mm and 45ACP.

My carry ammo for my XD .45 4" Service pistol is Magtech Guardian Gold 230gr JHP +p. I always have to buy it online because I can never find it in the stores.
