Springfield Armory SAR-48

I recently purchased a SA SAR-48 and I have started looking for information on it. I have looked a good bit and know it was an IMBEL import but can’t find much more. I have also reached out to Springfield to see if they can provide some more information. Any information someone would have would be appreciated.

any idea on what kind of value they have today? I have done some research and look like they go for around 2300-2500ish. I got a pretty good deal on this one.
$2500-$2800 for a SAR 48 in great condition.
I’m into all things FN FAL and own 4 rifles in versions of Imbel, L1A1 and DS Arms.

you have a fantastic shooter there.

remember, this was designed to be a soldiers rifle, not a precision shooter. Expect 1” groups at best from a great barrel. 2” groups is the norm, even from a brand new factory gun back in the day. Anything better than 1-2” and you have a excellent, rare barrel.
Fun to shoot, but heavy rifle.

Lots of aftermarket modern parts if you want to make it a more tactical modern rifle with scope, rails, etc ...
i have done that with 1 rifle and let the other 3 be traditional.

here is a great source for parts, kits and modern rails.

I paid 1600.00 for the rifle and he included 600 rounds of sealed surplus ammo.

Well, back in 86-90, most of the sports cars were 220-230hp. Abysmal, but it what it was .
My 5.0Lx coupe would smoke my ‘86 IROC Z due to weight.

Minivans have more than 230hp now 🤣🤣🤣
Dude, I bought a 2003 Grand Caravan with a 3.8 and 130k miles on it for $3000. That thing had some testicular fortitude. And I could get 10 4x8 sheets of plywood in it and still close the hatch. I drove it for 5 years and put another 170k miles on it. It was still running fine when I gave it to my daughter's friend.
