The Democrats are in control of both houses of Virginia's General Assembly, and this is what gun owners in Virginia are up against when the General Assembly Convenes January 10, 2024. Hopefully our Republican governor will veto any of these bills that reach his desk.

 
you're "lucky" if it is only a 3 day waiting period to take home that new or used gun.

here, it is 8 days......during covid it was "up tp 30 days"

many other states have longer waiting periods of 3 days.

and welcome to the magazine ban BS that many of us have to put up with as well

maybe there, , they will have a :grandfathering clause" to keep what you have......we have NO such clause....

until people get out and vote, "in spades" to use a quoted excerpt from the video, then more and more progressive dumbocrats will be elected.

and to turn over any such ban(s) is a long process thru the courts
 
They will be trying to do some crazy stuff here in New Mexico this year. Thank god it's only a 30 day session and just maybe they will run out of time but that hasn't stopped our ruler in the past. I think her term is almost up also.

Fortunately, with my CCW license, I walk out with my new or used firearm within a few minutes after finishing the 4473. Generally, if I go in with a particular weapon in mind, I'm in and out in 15, 20 minutes tops!
 
I was reading yesterday about some Democrat with a middle eastern sounding name trying to pass a law in Virigina where you can't carry into an establishment that serves alcohol.

VIRGINIA, USA — A new bill is being proposed that would ban concealed carry inside any bars and restaurants in Virginia.
Senate Bill 57 was pre-filed by Virginia Senator-elect Saddam Salim, late last week. He says it was a big concern that several restaurant owners brought to his attention while he was campaigning.
"When you go into a restaurant, you don't worry about the fact that the chef is going to poison your food. You go to an establishment that provides quality food. It's the same thing. They should be able to provide space where you and your family feel comfortable without worrying who's carrying a concealed weapon," said Salim.

Again. This is the whole point. Don't matter if it is Constitutional or not. Don't matter what the courts say. It sure as hell don't matter what's right or wrong. All that matters is that the progressives get to do what they want. Get told they can't do something; they just reword the same old B.S. and start all over again and do as they damn well please while it works its way through the courts.
 
Having a CCW in New Mexico will not let you walk out with a firearm. If you're turned down when 4473 is submitted no gun. We do not have wait periods here in New Mexico. If you are good you walk out with weapon if not at least a 3 day hold unless told otherwise by NICS. Having a carry permit has nothing to do with anything. Also cannot walk into a bar with a ccw here or a restaurant that makes 50% of its income from liquor sales. No drinking while carrying a weapon.
