Masks that aren’t N94+ keep you from getting others sick. If you live with or care for vulnerable people, don’t expect surgical masks to protect you. But surgical masks definitely help keep the spread down.

Thanks for posting the link Talyn, it will come in handy if I need more masks. I don't have a sewing machine, but can sew with needle and thread IF I'm able to get the thread through the eye of the needle (with age, it's becoming very difficult). My Sister was able to mail me two cloth masks that a woman made in her town. I did order a 2 pack of 5 each, cloth washable masks from Amazon several weeks ago, but then found delivery won't be until May 22nd - June 12th. They were shipped, and then I noticed they were coming from China, so they'll have the virus , already preinstalled.

If you have a home made mask , put it on. Now light a match and see if you can blow the match out. If you can the mask will not do you or anyone around you any good.

ETA: I should have said anyone closer than the 6 foot rule.
