Who Does and Who Doesn’t Read “Owners Manuals”

I’m not pointing any fingers whatsoever however it seems after reading many posts on this forum and other forums in the past on things other than firearms that there are people that don’t fully
“or at all” read the owner’s manual that came with the product they purchased.
So who does and who doesn’t?
And please why either way?

I read them all the time, now a good friend of mine throws the manual and boxes away, no ideal why, but he just does. I also download them from the manufacture in case they are a upgraded version from my hard copy that came with the gun.

I do, particularly on new guns, pertaining to takedown & maintenance.

Occasionally, you read something really funny—such as CZ’s recommendation to drink beer in case of being exposed to tritium in the event of a night sights vial rupture (seriously—it’s a diuretic and will help flush what very little radiation you might get from breathing the gas out of your system).

I'll read the manual before I shoot any gun. I'll even buy book/manuals for firearms that I bought used that didn't come with a manual, (SKS, Mosin Nagant, Mauser rifles, P08 Luger, etc). I want to know how to field strip them, reassemble and any other pertinent information that I need to know. For these, I'll also review any video's that are helpful in this area.

Some stuff is not in the manual like ie reversing the magazine release on the Springfield Hell Cat 9mm OSP pistol. So if someone asks a question we as fellow Springfield Fans should try to help answer the question. To set it straight, my intention was not to do any of the above to a member asking a question, I was and have always been pointed to look in the owners manual for information, if it appeared that I was, I apologize.

I will read the manuals on new firearms and I will watch various videos for take down and maintenance.
I don't call customer service, they have not been helpful by giving typical lawyer answers, or in other words CYA.

I like those YOUTUBE help videos. I find a lot of good information not covered in the owner's manual.

I dated a lady for awhile that bought a brand new SUV every 2 years, she never read the owner’s manual on her new vehicle. She would ask me what does this button do? I would pull out the owner’s manual and tell her to read.

Yes. My girlfriend ask me everything. If we are at a new store she will ask me where something at or she will ask me how much something is if there is no price on it.
