Wilderness Survival: Take Care of Your Feet

My dad always told us to take care of our feet, and to have a pair of dry socks handy. This was sound advice from a Korean War infantry veteran. He told us how he and his fellow soldiers would wash out their dirty socks by hand while in the field, or just change out of a wet pair, ring them out as much as possible, then drape them in the inside of their clothing in the armpit/sleeve area. Their body heat would eventually dry the socks to a somewhat bearable status to be used during the next sock rotation.
