Does anyone still carry a wheel gun? First firearm I ever purchased was the 2 in Smith & Wesson.

My first revolver was inherited from my dad after he passed, didn’t even know he owned a gun. Almost threw out the red metal box I found it in when cleaning out the basement.

It’s been retired after finding some very small stress cracks in the frame.

The one I did buy was a Taurus 605M

Depending on where I’m going I’m starting to carry it as a cross draw backup.

i want to, that is, when i get my butt into gear, and get me a nice leather holster for mine...i just cannot fully decide on IWB, or OWB, as here, we must carry concealed. if i "do decide" to finally carry my wheel gun, it might have to be for winter only, as then an OWB would work best, under my coats/jackets.

That's a nice early Colt Detective Special. Was the nickle finish a factory job? Do you know what year it was made?
Not sure of the year, and I am not 100 percent sure if it is factory chrome. I had heard once, cannot remember the source, that Detroit PD bought thier revolvers non chromed and had a contract with an auto bumper supplier to have them chromed and engraved with A Detroit PD logo.

My father in law had a Barami hip grip on it when I got it. I found the genuine stag grips and added thrm.

I’m a leather holster guy also. I use a place call Kirkpatrick leather to make my OWB holsters.

Last few years with the extended wait times I have been using Stoner holsters a small outfit from Ohio. I have been very pleased with thier work. This is there cross draw/strong side combo holster. Never waited longer than a month and the price is anazing. Prior I used Rudy Lozano Black Hills leather a lot.

i just checked thier website, they do not offer a holster (OWB) for a Ruger GP 100 2.5" barrel,... only for the Ruger SP 101 2.5"

but i will send off an email to ask.
They’re a custom holster place. They will make what you want. It just takes awhile. I believe they are closed until after the holidays. They have made a few holster for me over the years. They also do matching belts and magazine holders. They are located in Texas. I find their prices about the same as DeSantis and Galco.

I recently had these made for my SIG 320 and my revolvers. They use to only do custom orders. The last few years they have been pre-making popular firearm holster.
