Gotta be an older special run, the hammer has the firing pin on it, plus it’s a forged one as is the trigger, current S&W’s don’t, it is very nice!

It’s one of them there Collaborations projects. It says Springfield on it so it’s all Good in the Neighborhood

It uses a “Moon Clip” device so cartridges specifically designed for pistols can be used in revolvers. Not all revolvers have this capability

I didn't either. I have ever only fired one when I took a course, and I don't even remember what caliber or the make (total noob way back when), but it was big and I liked it. Wow, I'm feeling a tug over to the dark side...

Well, they did actually make .45 acp rimmed cartridges.
Maybe they still do.

When I still had this 625JM, it used moon clips, which can be a pain loading and unloading, but the gun shot fine, I just didn’t like the sharp grooves on the trigger face

I’ve seen a Moon Clip device that makes loading and unloading easy.

Yea, I still have it, mines called a DeMooner…..go figure…..

I’ve got a number of S&W 625’s and 325’s (lightweight).

.45acp out of my 5” 625-5 is pretty fun.

I just use a couple of short dowels to remove empties from the clips. A lot easier…or get the polymer clips. Those are a breeze to load/unload.
