I need a little more coffee before I comment further on this one.
The CDC became a political institution a long time ago. 20yrs ago if you had CDC research position it was the pinnacle of science. Now? I wouldn’t work for CDC for any amount of money.
I like the idea of a state or coalition of states forming their own “CDC-like” organization to do what is best for the people of their state(s) rather than mandates coming from a centralized borg. Other states can benefit from best practices and lessons learned from other state’s guidelines.

like you, i too cannot give a definitive answer.
my wife, kids, and me all got our flu shots every year, it was a way to if not prevent the flu, but at least a way to alleviate the horrors of suffering thru it...
but like Pres. Reagan once said....."if someone comes up to you and says, "i'm from the government, and i'm here to help" you, run away...
are we then just lab rats, when vaccines are forced on us, like the super quickness of the covid vax that we all heard many vaccines take years to finalize..??
how did the covid vax become so quick to be finalized back then....???
recommend a vax, then let us decide if we want it or not, just do not threaten us with being barred from stores, schools, or other gathering places, if we choose not to "get the shot"..and certainly not that bull crap of..."this section for vaxxed only" to humiliate the non-vaxxed.

Go to a cemetery that’s been around for a hundred years or so.
Take a look at how many gravestones were for kids prior to 1950-60…when vaccinations became more common.
Then see how many fewer came after that.

And, quite bluntly, anyone who thinks a couple of hours of internet research, mainly on websites which simply confirm what you already thought, makes you as qualified to comment on vaccines as people who have literally studied them for decades is delusional. Dunning-Kruger in spades.

Ha, some of us actually had careers in pharmaceuticals. Some of us actually sold anti-virals. Pushing an untested therapy that only had a EUA without the rigorous testing that most vaccines would normally be subjected to is criminal. Some Alex's who go off big mouthed and half-cocked spouting party line ignorance ought to stay in their lane, read up or sit down.

There are many other things that caused those deaths besides just lack of vaccinations. Please peruse (or, in your words, research for decades and not a couple of hours) such things as homogenization of dairy, lack of nutrition (essential vitamins), etc. It wasn’t just vaccinations that flipped the juvenile death rate over those years.
The disastrous, AND FORCED, experimentation on humans with various untested COVID vaccines, as well as listing almost EVERY death during those years as due to COVID, when many were due to other underlying conditions, lost governmental health agencies a LOT of credibility.
I’m all for giving folks the opportunity to get vaccinated. And if a government requires them, they should actually be tested for the appropriate amount of time on the appropriate amount of subjects (which should ALL be volunteers).

When the first PCR test came out during COVID I pulled the SOP and supporting docs regarding its development, which were readily available from the CDC. For background I teach this technique, have used it for close to 20 years in my research and serve as a consultant in assay design and execution using this technique for both academic and industry customers.
I ordered the reagents and templates to test the kit the CDC had approved for use. It failed horribly and the parameters they were using for data analysis made no sense with regard to the technique (think, using a screwdriver as a hammer for comparison).
I contacted the department head at the University where I work who was using the assay for University testing (and making millions for the University from gub'mint re-reimbursement) to let him know of the assay shortfalls and flawed positive calling parameters. I told him that the assay was operating outside of the limits of detection for the virus and will result in a greater than 10% false positive rate. I was told that my help or input was not needed. I contacted them at least 2 more times to let me help them but my emails and calls were never returned. It was all about the $$$.
finally, after about 6 months of the assay running this way they made changes, but not before millions of people were mis-diagnosed as COVID+ when they were not. The economic loss to many of these people was devastating. Also, in the early days there was a certain social stigma.

Didn't watch the video. Got the two "jabs" because A: I had to, to keep my job, two years to retirement, B: I'm old, thought it was a good idea, and old enough to have seen the effects of polio in the generation before me. I'm a believer in vaccinations, kind off, sort of, maybe, losing faith, was once upon a time. Always against mandating vac. and once they started the boosters 1- however many and new vac.'s for younger and younger to the point the youngest had effectively zero chance of having lasting effects from covid, left a very bad taste in my mouth. In the end this turned into a giant kiss from the taxpayers to Pharma., pol.'s investing with insider knowledge, Dr.'s on the payroll of the CDC, WHO, Etc. AND PHARMA.

Winner, winner chicken dinner! Having been in pharmaceuticals, I can tell you horror stories. It's not about the cure, it's about the renewals. Hepatitis shots for newborns when mom tests negative, what for?

it was on my AM radio talk show last week in fact..
a salesman (retired) was telling the DJ, that when he made a sale to the doctor, he'd go back the following month, and go thru the "numbers" and basically beech at the doctor for such low numbers in pushing the meds.......
yeah, all about those numbers.
