9mm is less appealing, but has a small attraction depending on brands.................

10mm is a sweet spot, but has limitations on brands and styles..........

45acp has its place, but i'm rarely attracted regardless of brands.............

357sig is even more limited even with converting from 40s/w availabilities.............

semi-autos whether striker of hammer fired is more of the issue on what attracts me..................

ar's.................well the "ar" what they "ar", but can get in most every cartridge there is.....................

shotguns.............i'm not much of 1 of those peeps, but there are a few i wouldn't mind having (genesis arms and beretta)

a person on another forum offer me a 5.45x39 ar barrel which peaked my interest as i8've thought about that cartridge would be fun too shoot.....................now i just need the ammo and reloading them i have only 1 bullet choice (that i've found so far). i can find brass only cases......

sooooooooooo................maybe some revolvers....................45-70 & 500mag

lever guns sound good in 45-70, 44mag and even 500mag......................

as far as rifles go i'll just build my own whether it's an ar or ba

no need for any 26cals as i have 5 different cartridges in this

torn between what 28cal i would want as i have 7-08rem and 7rsaum, so that leaves something bigger like 28nosler
30cals might do a trick with 300mn, 30nosler or 300prc due to case lengths (not cartridge lengths)

33cals might intrigue me in 338nm to go with the 338lm

375enabler only due to barrett having a conversion for their 416barrett mrad-elr

458wsm would be a killer cartridge

any suggestions...........................
 
this is maybe one reason why i don't own, and i don't even wish to own, several caliber guns.

9mm, 45 ACP, 38 special (and it shoots 357 as well revolver), 45 Colt revolver, 22 LR, and 22 magnum.

the 22's are the most fun to shoot for me, especially for the christmas contest.

the 9mm is my go to gun for my ccw, so i need to practice that

the 45 ACP is a back up ccw, so i practice that, as well as i love destroying the targets

the 38/357 revolver is a snubby, and i actually like it, but i mostly shoot 38's

the 45 Colt Single action revolver i shoot rarely, but i still like it

i just do not see the need for me to have any more calibers, for me, it'll be a cost factor.

also i just also do not want an armory.

i do not want any rifle, but i still have a dream of at least a Henry rifle, maybe in no higher that a 38.

since i have a very small "collection" of guns, i do not get bored, at all, but at times if anything at all, other things get my attention more than anything else.

so then i look forward to either a day at the range, or at the club, or at the reloading bench.

Agree on the rifle. Never had one, of any type. Only shot M-16 annually over many years in USAF. Like you, I think a Henry would be pretty cool to own and (for me), then pass down to grandson when my time comes. I’d probably go .38sp./.357. Maybe .45. But I’d still have to get a long gun safe.

Closest I’ve come is a SA AR Saint Pistol I bought when they were first released that I moved on without ever firing. It really came down to I didn’t want to invest in a large/long gun safe as my grandson began crawling/walking a while back.

Also never had a shotgun, though I’ve always been enamored by the Mossberg compacts - just never got around to it. My indoor range here allows shotguns, I just don’t think I’d shoot it more than once to make sure it works AND I think I can defend my home better (and safer) with a handgun.

I’ve been through more handguns than I care to think about (one day I’ll post the entire list here so you can all laugh at me). I am down to 9, which I doubt will grown or shrink in the future. 2 .45 1911s, 2 revolvers (.32 and .38sp/.357), 2 DA/SA 9mm, and 3 SAO 1911 platform 9mm. I enjoy shooting all of them, and alternating between them weekly or biweekly at my range.
 
I have been around from my first da revolver for duty through the Das/SA days dabbled with strikers and 1911’s now HK with LEM did a coulle red dot classes (more because I see a lot in classes I teach them for my needs) m14/4 HK MP5 and of course some levers and bolts and Blackhawks for personal play.

To be honest I could get rid of almost all my things and happy with a few 3 and 4” K or L frames and some lever guns in 22 38/357 and a J frame in 32 H&R

And maybe keep a 1911 and my N frame in 45 acp for history stuff and of course my HK LEM stuff

Nothing new excites me like it did 25 years ago. They all do pretty similar things
 
When it comes to fun, all you need is .22RF. They come in all sizes, shapes and configurations. Everything from casual plinkers to precision target guns. Cheap ammo and easy to shoot. (y)
There's rarely a range trip where I don't have at least one .22 along. And that's the one I have the most fun with. ;)
 
I’m selling all my stuff and just get the ultimate gun according to some members on here…….🤪🤪

I am with Greyfox. The 22 RF is how I finish off every range session. Sometimes a semi-auto, sometimes a revolver and yes, even the single action revolver is in the rotation. A fifty round box of inexpensive fun just to work on the basics of sights, grip and trigger. Especially if I have been shooting the .44 Magnum at my advanced age...50 fun rounds makes sure I don't develop a flinch.
