As far as J frame I love the new 432/632 (32 H&R 442/642 (38 Special) and am really really partial to the 640 Pro Black as they have a great set of sights

The Ruger Lipsey’s LCR in 32 H&R is also a great option.
The 32 cals have the extra plus as they are 6 shots

A J frame is a great choice and living the snub life is a thing but many folks discount them because of capacity.
But in the mission drives the gear they are probably enough gun for running to Walmart and walking the park

Ok , lets tweak that a little bit :

. A gun shouldn't be actually painful to carry . But a modicum of thought to dress around a serious gun is fine .

Grownups should dress like grownups , and not skin tight spandex bicycle shorts .

OP is right . A 2in RB K Frame , with Magna or Boot F is at least as easy to conceal on the belt as a J Frame w/ oversize grips . Been there both ways .

If you choose to carry heavy iron of that size ( not knocking it ) , you might as well have a proper big bore .

And they are be very versitile with handloading ( which you will want to do anyway , for the $ ) .

No thank you .

If you're so inclined a Mountain Gun is a cpl oz , and more importantly different balance in the hand .

But if you're going to carry something that Size , and it's implied that you want .44 mag on purpose , commit to carrying a proper steel .44 mag , that's actually usable with " normal full power " ammo .

This is the 2.5" Model 19 k frame I carried as a detective and off duty back in the revolver days. I bought it new in 1978, still have the box and receipt, paid $174 for it. I made many felony arrests with this in my hand or hip. I normally wore a suit or blazer on duty, off duty an untucked shirt or vest, never had a problem concealing it with two speedloaders. The past few years I have been shooting the LEOSA quals with this one as well as my primary carry, and it holds its own with full size 1911's. I always felt well armed, and this gun just shouts "5-0"

Great looking gun. If they still made it it would be on the suspect list.
