What have you bought firearms related in the last 48 hours?

2k starline 45 acp cases i'll keep 1k for my trip to perry next year.
Not sure about what guns are used in current NRA Bullseye competition. In my days with the 8th Infantry Division teams we used S&W M-41's rimfire matches, S&W M-52's Centerfire matches & 1911's in Nat'l matches 230gr ball only. Some team members shot 1911's in centerfire matches using 185gr swc ammo. Of course there were no optics or revolvers back then c.1966.

I use a .22 Nelson conversion, a service pistol in 45 for centerfire and a 45 for the 45 match I'm working on a 38 special revolver for the revolver matches. Also have a custom 38 special wad gun should have that ready soon. Have to read the cylinder throats waiting for my reamer.

Thanks, hope you get close to that 2700 perfect score. (assuming that's the current standard)

That's an impressive shopping list.

That's an impressive shopping list.
pre shopping for future builds of maybes............i really like the criterion hybrid m118 chambered barrels. i have 5 iirc. from what i can remember it's a 308win with and extra .030" throated/freebore. been thinking on getting a 22creed and 25creed AR. twist rates for the 22 along with barrel lengths are not an easy decision unless you're shooting all copper bullets.............lead core can come apart when the rpm's get near 310-320k. so for the 25 the 7 twist w/22" barrel for 130's and up stay way under max rpm. 8 twist 22 keeps length down to 18" for 62-75gr and can go up to 22" 7 twist for 85-90's. 80's are in the gray area on 8's depending on brand.

Used to load 338LP & 6.5CM for best accuracy and velocity. Fire formed new brass to chambers occasionly turned necks, neck sized only and experimented with OAL and jump to lands distance. Went through several different powder charges keeping them close to one tenth variations. Had pretty good luck managing to get 1/4moa accuracy with some loads. You lost me when determining rpm for different twists and bullets. It's been over twenty years since I did the above and no doubt there are better load components available now.. Never tried shorter barrels my Shilen 338 barrel was 30" with 9.5" twist 6.5 was stock Ruger Precision 26" think 8" twist.

depending on the cup-n-core brand and type (target or hunting) the jacket thickness if thin will separate (blow up/fly apart) due to to high of velocity with twist being used. some might be able to go over what's a known average 320,000 revs/rotations per minute. nothing is absolute about the 320k, but is an average of some sorts. i have a list of twist per velocity such as...........7 twist velocities are maxed around 3,110fps and 8 twist is 3,550. wonder why the old 22-250 and 220swift had a slow twist.............that's the reason as most of their varmint bullets were 35-50gr going 4,200+ although a 9.5 twist could still keep the rpm's under 320k, so going 10-14 twist still stabilized the bullet it also kept the thin jacket from separating.

Interesting info, thanks.

When does your store open and where will it be? And only AR parts or others as well?

I had to get a new crow foot. I also bought a can of penetrating oil. The barrel nut on my AR-9 was apparently put on with a hydraulic press at 10,000 foot pounds.
