I think it is very true that beauty is in the eye of the beholder! To me, starting with a Staccato CX4 seems an odd choice though. Very expensive base to begin your project!

nope..gimme an ordinary gun from the factory..all then doo-dad's won't get you more money or store credits, when you go to sell or trade it
Sometimes it even results in much less than you’d get for a factory gun. Would take a specific buyer to want to buy something like that and LGS, in my experience, prefer things to move on and not sit on their shelves indefinitely.

I carry the least expensive gun for self defense. Why? Because if I have to use it for the intended purposes, it's gonna be in the evidence locker room for the duration and then some!
And who knows what will happen to it (functionally/cosmetically) while in police custody. I subscribe mostly to the same philosophy as yours, though I sometimes do scratch the itch to carry one of my more well built models - usually when headed to the range.

that's the same EXACT thing i'd say when i would see a fancy 18 wheeler all decked out with murals, special paint scheme, all chromed and stainless steel tricked out..

it would be a very rare day a buyer with the exact tastes comes along.

when i "shopped" for my own rig, i was interested in engine, transmission, rear axles ratios, frame structure, and comfort.

"all that chrome, don't get you home"

meaning..your gonna be on the road forever to pay off "for all that glitters".

and there are others that WILL say, thier life depends on that gun, so they will spend the money.

hell a Hi Point will get the job done, then write it off as a loss when it gets into the evidence room.

I hate Glock. I can't begin to express how much I hate Glock. But I'd carry a Glock before I carry one of my S&Ws and have a pristine collectable end up in evidence.....

We get it 😀! Staccato stole your dog! /jk

LOL hardly.

I never said Staccatos weren’t good shooting guns, I just get a laugh at everyone chairing cyclic split times and relate it to a must have for personal protection.

You can’t assess that shots 2,3 or 5 are legal at as fast as a lot of folks want to shoot with cyclic split times.

LAPD SWAT is one of the best in the country and run anywhere between .35-.50 (with most being .50) don’t miss and don’t loose very many gunfights with non staccato or race guns.

But hey, cool and prestige mean things!
