It is wasp season. Went to feed horses and the yellow jackets had built a nest above the door. One of them got me on the back of the neck. Happens to me about once a year somewhere, usually in a doorway. Those little &%$#@ hurt! Fortunately I am not allergic. I got my revenge with Spectracide spray foam, it kills them and their nest DRT. Y'all be careful out there.

you know YELLOW JACKETS are simply .. BORN PISSED OFF (y) :mad:
they are viscous and i think do seek and destroy missions for target practice on humans
around here they will chase you and no stop... i think they sit at the door waiting for you to let your guard down
if i see a hint of new nest, it gets sprayed and burned.
that foam stuff smells like fuel oil and burns them dead, works on big spiders to
be careful

side note
i fond out UPS in MA. is different from the rest of UPS , they dont scan the packages they pickup from the warehouses that are shipping stuff, they wait until it gets to the ups hub..... of course now no body knows where they are
both were picked up at 3pm yesterday, .....and poof they are a mystery, guy at the place i bought the large parcels from, acted like it was not his responsibility
i reminded him gently... UPS says you still have it....maybe walk around and make sure its actually picked up
 
went to turn the bike around in the yard, front wheel dug in the mud and slammed me on the ground. i is gonna be sore. landed on my hip pretty hard and my finger hurts . trigger finger too. strret bike and mud don't mix. had to get the sone to help me get it up and then he had to pull me out. it was stuck.

Many years ago while I was in junior college during summer break, I was a Beekeeper.
I would take the wooden boxes and remove each bee's rack full of honey from each type of field.
Strawberry,mango's, avocado, etc. The thing I realized that the honey from different fields actually had a taste of the field from what they gathered their nectar. Now, what you buy at the store is all honey is just mixed into one single vat and put into single jars.
Yes, ever once in a while I would rarely get stung but as we all know honey bee stings are not very painful, unlike other bee species which is best to leave them alone. Now if you find one bee's nest and have to remove it, best to let a bee handler either move them or if need be exterminate them safely.

I would take home a gallon (free to me) of the bees honey that were in the strawberry fields and would make fresh tea with it.

Over the years I have seen various of bee's nest and I learned, if you can leave them alone, they will leave you alone.
 
Went to the range this morning. Gun worked great but for some reason I was pulling more to the left than normal. My right hand is not like it used to be after the surgery. I'm disappointed but nothing I can do and getting mad doesn't help. For the most part I have accepted it. Getting older is not what I thought it would be. I just hope I don't get the affliction of wanting to watch dirty movies every night like somebody we know.

Bee's mainly will leave you alone. Wasp are a different story! At an irrigation well there was a nest i couldn't see, but there were hundreds of bee's flying around. I was needing to check water pressure, oil levels and so forth and there were 2 or 3 if my kids with. They all stayed away thinking they would get stung. I walked calmly into the swarm, did what needed to be done and walked out unstung. I told them they won't bother you if you don't bother them.

Wasp still go after you with a vengeance in my area (yellow jackets). Seems like the black Wasp (mud dobbers) arenas aggressive.

even our big bumble bees just do fly bys and sort of wave
we have LOTS of honey bees in the roses, they might alight on you, but just sit for a second then off they go
but HORSE flies the size of qtrs will also pull the yellow jacket vengence play book out and come after you

I hear you don't have anything to worry about until you have to start shaving your palms. :unsure:🤷‍♂️:LOL:
 
@NMEDGE I had the stroke and lost my strength on the right side, guess what my strong side is..... My point is that I still shoot, just not as quick, and not semi automatics. I went back to my roots and now shooting revolvers. I can't safely use shotguns, so I can't hunt birds anymore. But I still shoot every thing except big magnums.

Keep trying and don't get discouraged, Amigo, I'm sure you can get back to nearly normal.
