Road trip to Scheels

Well I was going to go shoot today but with the smoke from Canada kinda stopped it. Decided to drive just over 100 miles to Scheels in my lovely state capital of Springfield Illinois. What is better than looking at firearms along with ammo and other stuff in a town that holds politicians that are stripping away the 2nd amendment. I’m thankful for been a broke person that works 60+ hours a week because I saw a lot of adoptable firearms that I wanted to bring home. Personally I like to feed my black guns I do have since they do an excellent job on what they do on a daily basis.

It was hard to leave but I will come again soon to this store.

How long did you ride the Ferris Wheel?

We have a mini-Scheels with no Ferris Wheel.

Scheels always has top prices but with rewards you can make things more palitable.

The ferries wheel took about 20 minutes. It didn’t cost anything to ride either.

I wish I could get rewards but they said they don’t offer it. The prices weren’t to bad but offered stuff I couldn’t find anywhere else.

There's also a Cabela's, Sportsman's Warehouse and 15-20 of smaller gun shops. (probably more)

With this Scheels. I honestly could go for hours. Try 2 floors of stuff (including a 2 story fish tank that takes 2 people in diving suits to clean) and the firearm section that can rival a gun shop (better than range USA). Yes I know a place towards Chicago that would rival any gun shop but a few people on here know about it.
 
Never been to one , and seemingly a thousand miles , if l avoid a state that l avoid .

So this is a former hardware chain , that turned into a copy of Bass Pro , down to the fish tank ?

scheels has hunting, outdoor and all sports plus some limited western wear like AriatZ
Nice Stuff for all the sports, hiking, camping, hunting, fishing and biking. No boats like bass pro. lots of nice clothing. Scheels is not inexpensive on anything, but they have lots of good stuff

It’s like a Dicks sporting goods but better. There are different locations scattered across the Midwest and I choose to go to this one over Iowa City, Iowa. For me this is closer than any bass pro shop out there too (about 200 miles plus away).

We had an Academy store open near me in the last year or so. Boy was I ever disappointed! Sky high prices, employees that were not at all helpful. Bass pro runs circles around them in price, selection and most of all, friendly KNOWLEDGEABLE employees!! Ive been back twice, I'll not go back.
 
Dicks sporting goods is an anti 2A establishment. They removed all hunting/firearms from their stores and came out amd said they do not support firearms culture in America. F them for anything.
Academy is good for ammo only. Its close by and sales have good prices. Thats about it. Budget minded low quality goods for in house brands.

The idiot also said he was going to destroy all the ar15s he had in stock in all the stores.
Well you know he lied. Why would you destroy maybe hundreds of thousand dollars of inventory cause you went woke. He's a liar.

one by me used to have a massive hunting and outdoor section. it was a flagship store.
walked in one day and everything that wasn't an actual firearm was 75% off. got a few items too good to pass up.
1 week later they announced their anti 2A rant from the CEO. went back in one time with the son for soccer stuff.
vowed then and there we wouldnt give them a dime and bought what he needed online.
