Bad eyes.

Wow, that's a big URL. I hope it links properly. Anyway, like it says in the video on that page, the bifocal lens is on the top of the shooting glasses so you don't have to tilt your head back to use the reader lens to see the front sights clearly. The top focal lens lets you see your iron sights clearly from a natural stance. It works great for me and iron sights. It might work for others too.

The first set I bought was top focal on the right side and a clear lens on the left. I don't think they have those on the website any more. It was called the "Premier" kit. I contacted the owner and he still has a few of those kits left. But he says once the "Ultra" kit came out, it became the best seller. The Ultra kit can be configured with top or bottom lenses, either or both. IOW one bifocal on the top and one bifocal on the bottom, or both bifocals on top, etc.

When I got new prescription glasses I asked my opthamologist if I could get a bifocal on top but they were unable to make that kind of lens. Hence the SSP at the range.

I have a couple of optic pistols with the Holosun 507 installed. For some reason that dot looks clear without any corrective lenses. One of those is in my carry rotation. I don't want to ask the bad guy to wait while I put on my special shooting glasses. ;)

Okay, fellas, of course, you know, I confessed that it was my problem with the bad eyes and I was not looking through my bifocal. So this is my invention. I take full responsibility for this invention.And if anybody wants to make money off of it, to design something, then I want a piece of the action. 😆 i've seen something similar to this. Where you hang it over your glasses, and it has a small circle in it. So your pupil can focus on your sights. I'm sure you all know what i'm talking about. So since I do quite a bit of biking, I decided to take my side mirror which I hang off my glasses. So I can see traffic coming up behind me, and i'm manipulated it to go around my glasses.And what i'm going to do is i'm going to remove the mirror and put a bifocal lens for my right eye. I'll understand if you sit there laughing. But I think it's going to work. By focusal glasses at c v s are pretty cheap. You may proceed in breaking my chops. Sorry about the spelling.I'm using a microphone. 😆

I'm sure this invention will work but it seems a bit over-engineered. A simpler solution would be a stick-on diopter for your shooting glasses. I've used these with some success. You can trim to fit and they are reusable.

I think that Amazon link will work. The product I've used are the Hydrotac Stick-On Bifocal Lenses. They come in different magnification levels.

Because of my eyesight (I’ve had cataract surgery in my right eye), I've started transitioning to optics on a couple of my pistols. I can see the green dot without any corrective lenses. All the best to you.

I have found that I need a little less magnification to see my front sights as opposed to reading. For example, if you use 2.00 readers for reading, the 1.75 lenses should let you see the front sights clearly.

To get a better idea of what lenses you might need, visit one of your local drug stores that has a rack of reading gasses. Bring a pen or pencil with you. Hold the pencil as you would a pistol, the tip being the same length away from your eyes as the muzzle and front sight would be. Try different strength readers until you can see the tip of your pencil clearly. Once you see the pencil tip clearly, you've found your "prescription".

So just for a little experiment, I decided to go to c v s and check out there bi focals. Boy they're are real garbage. I just wanted to do a comparison to see what it could be. And the stuff that they have is like nowhere in my range. So I called my doctor and they're supposed to give me a prescription on my lenses. 😆 i'll probably go over there tomorrow because i'm very impatient and they usually take i have a very long time. Sometimes I feel like doctors dont give a 💩. Took me one minute to spell check 😆

BassCliff I purchase those stick on lenses from amazon and I didn't really like the results. so I highlighted the front and rear sites and my rear side is adjustable to look through 2 fiber optic or a small peep hole. I was very surprised the really tiny people made a difference. Guess i'm gonna have to deal with it that way.
