Are you now carrying a pistol in .22 long rifle now 🤔 ? If caliber doesn’t matter that would be your best choice, no recoil and high capacity.

Are we talking about the same gun 🤔, my 45 Shield weighs 2 ounces more than my 9mm Shield.

Looking at this new .45 Shield I was surprised to see it is the same size as my Glock 26 with the 12 round magazine but a bit thinner, I was surprised 😮 at that. I put Talon rubber grips on it, I use them on all of my polymer carry autos.

I bought a .45 Shield a couple of days ago and very happy with it.

Between the 9mm and .45 I prefer the 9mm for general carry, most of my carry guns are now 9mm, but when it gets cold and heavy clothes are being worn, I prefer a lager caliber like a .40 or preferably the .45. All of my carry caliber ammo is heavy for caliber HSTs.

I always carry one extra mag no matter what I carry but usually an extra mag off body in the car. As the caliber goes up in size I have no problem with reduced capacity. I am one of those old dinosaurs that believe (in my experience shooting large animals) caliber matters.

Because good hits in a shoot out don’t always happen and sometimes don’t get the job done.

An ankle holster on the ground worked well in most force on force drills.

The best ankle holster carry I had found is a Galco Ankle Glove and a Ruger EC9s, I hardly know it’s there.

When carrying 1911 one spare is enough for me.

I carried a 1911 many years ago for about 20 years and it was very common then to download any magazine by one to not over compress the mag springs for better reliability on the last round.

I would move if I had to carry all of that every time I left the house 😲.

Often power is discussed, but the reality you just need the attacker to break off the attack and it doesn’t take much of a bullet to dissuade someone to go in the other direction.
