Thanks for all the info guys! I will definitely be investing in a dehumidifier for my safe and plan to at least clean and lube them a couple of times a year if they aren't being fired.

I live in a climate where it can be 20 below in the winter and is 110 degrees in the summer. If i wanted to store guns/ammo in a building that isn't climate controlled, do I need to worry about corrosion and deterioration if they are in a safe? I've seen those blue anti-corrosion bags you can...

There are some SMSc ooptics on springfield's online store, have been thinking about pulling the trigger on one of those. Still kind of pricey though.

I haven't been able to find an optic cheap enough yet, but ordere a Vedder light tuck that is cut for an optic when I do get one.
