Its half the weight and slower in pretty much every barrel length you can get a subcompact in..so never The ammo is often the same price at best and you can get some very small single stack 9mms (ruger lc9 ect)

I've called Springfield and can only get the answer that it is a cmv barrel steel...like most ar 15 barrels. I want to know specifically if the barrel is made from 4140 or 4150 steel and cant find an answer anywhere
