3 years of steel challenge and Emmy is running like a champ. 20k+ rounds and 1 recoil spring change.

I wouldn't be over concerned with what type of pistol I was using to start with. Yesterday a guy who has been shooting for 1 year shot S/C with a 4" Glock/optic with sub 3 second strings.

Best way to practice is to just go shoot it. The folks at these matches are friendly and happy to help with new shooters. That was my experience and it was an IDPA match!

The F16, 16 and 18 are all superior platforms

If I remember correctly F22s went 8 on 8 against F16s and all F22s were "shot " down. Heard that on AHC.

The first time I gripped them they seemed to me uncomfortable maybe painful. Then I shot it in Steel Challenge and had no problems. I preferred them for the great lockup it gave my hands with the gun. I think it is just the first time you have a grip pattern this aggressive it is too unfamiliar...
