Each gun is going to have a preference for a particular bullet weight and brand of ammo. I've found that it's very worthwhile to test several loadings of 115 and 124 grain to see what the gun likes.

1200 fps with a 124gr or better modern expanding bullet is my goal. 900 fps in .45 with a modern expanding 200-230gr bullet or one with a sharp meplat. The key is shot placement whatever you're shooting.
