Being new to the M1A and Garand platform, I didn't turn the rifle upside down during cleaning. Accordingly. bore solvent flowed into the gas system. Durrr!

My uncle is 90 y.o. USMC. He's slowed down a lot but is an amazing shot. I take good care of him! Just bought a USMC flag for the flagpole in front of his house. He's leaving me his prized M-1!

Loose plug! When I went to open plug for inspection, I found it was finger-tight!
Don't know how the H*ll this happened. Obviously, I didn't tighten it enough on reassembly and it came loose during initial firing of 300 rounds.
What's the rule for tightening?
