Was it a Sig, or just an idjit?

Many people make the mistaken assumption that Federal Officers are the best there is. The truth is that Federal LE agencies are plumb full of morons and idiots. Nothing stupid they do surprises me at all.

The True Story Behind the Mattel M16 Rifle

When I was in the Army (1972-75) we were issued the M-16A1. I never saw one marked Mattel, but it was long rumored that they made the plastic parts. I do know that many were made by General Motors as I carried a couple of them. Frankly, guns made by a toy company and a car company didn't...

    Full length guiderods

We've discussed FLGRs here before. My opinion is well known. 🤬 But if the OP wants to put one in, its his gun.

The Phillips and Rodgers Company M47 Medusa revolver

I remember when these first came out. It got lots of write ups in the gun magazines of the time. Interesting concept, but it fell flat on its face.

    Prodigy Thumb Safety Inquiry

As Hays suggested, first thing I'd check is the detent for the safety lever. There should be a positive click when engaged or disengaged. You might also consider where your holster is positioned. Shifting it forward or back just a bit may prevent it from bumping into things as much. However...

What is a good lighter recoil spring for Champion Operator in .45

Wolff & Colt say factory standard for a 4" Commander 1911 in .45 is 18 lbs. I suspect the Springfield will be the same, but you'd have to ask them to be absolutely sure. A lighter spring will make the slide cycle faster thus causing more wear and battering. Plus it'll throw brass farther away...

Illinois Democrats Push Bill to Serialize Ammunition and Create State Registry

I remember some years ago when the antis were pushing "Microstamping". There was actually a lot of study done on the concept. In the end it proved to be technologically, logistically and economically impractical. It just wouldn't work. But like any bad idea, the antis have brought it back...

    Walther PPK

That gun in that condition, in .32acp with the original holster is worth some serious money. You should post this on the Walther Forum and they can help you figure out its real value. Congratulations on a great find! (y)

    Open Carry?

I don't do it for many of the already mentioned reasons. About 20 years ago I was visiting friends in Missouri. I had a TN handgun permit, but Missouri didn't recognize it at that time. However, open carry was legal so I did while I was there. It was really weird. I could feel all the eyes on...
