I’ve pulled the trigger and gone Rare Breed

I totally see your point in trying to be anonymous, but I can assure that paying in cash wouldn't be really necessary. With the large numbers of triggers sold, including a LOT in the secondary market via GB, eBay, gun shows etc..., there's zero chance that ATF is going to come looking for these...

This is nothing like a binary trigger. But, more to the point of your question...it has only FIRE and SAFE positions. You do not change out your fire selector. While it would be nice to have a third position, it doesn't. Personally, I think there is a certain amount of PR involved. This trigger...

I’ve pulled the trigger and gone Rare Breed

First time out with the EVAC. Ran flawlessly with the stock H1 buffer. Tried an H3 and ran flawlessly as well, BUT strangely enough, it was much harder to get singles??? Tried a lot. Dropped an H2 and the same. Put the H1 back in and I was back to getting easy singles? I'm surprised? Here's a...

Sorry, yes I meant I bought the EVAC just like you. I had been intrigued by it since it came out...but not enough to buy it. The FRT seemed like a good fit and then your video sealed the deal. I'm guessing it's going to be a handful of fire and noise...hopefully that fancy brake/hider is effective?

Okay, Pirate! YOU pushed me over the edge and I bought my first non Colt. Yeah, I'm a purist dinosaur. From my M16s to my M4s...all gotta have a pony. But the cool factor of a breakdown AR was very tempting. And then YOUR thumbs up with the FRT....too much. LOL So, can you help me out with the...

So, if I understand you correctly, the muzzle device on these EVACs is not simply threaded on? That's too bad...don't know why Springfield would do that? Seems to me that most people would be willing to put up with the flash on that short bbl. and have the versatility? I actually have one on...

Pirate, another question that I can't seem to find an answer for on the EVAC... does that hider/brake come off and allow you to attach a suppressor? 1/2-28 threads? Meanwhile, the last batch of triggers from RB finally sold out. It took a lot longer this time. I also noticed that the prices on...

Obsrvr... just curious why you posted this video? You are aware that it is the vid that started all the controversy several months ago and led to many of the posts in this thread, right? ;)

I’ve pulled the trigger and gone Rare Breed

Here's a crazy one for the AR experts... My friend built one from an 80%. Nothing fancy. Typical 16'' bbl etc. Dropped an FRT in there and it runs beautifully. His 18 y/o is out there squeezing off singles like it's a stock trigger. So naturally I have to pop it open to see which H buffer he's...

I’ve pulled the trigger and gone Rare Breed

I finally had time to test my ATI Scmeisser 60rd mags. After never having had a single malfunction with any of my SureFire 60 mags I figured the bar was a bit high. Ran several mag dumps without a hiccup. So as far as I can see, these mags are good to go. German workmanship strikes again! I feel...

I’ve pulled the trigger and gone Rare Breed

I've been toying with buying an Evac for awhile. Unfortunately availability is scarce around here and I normally like to hold a gun before dropping $2K on it. Have you shot it much? Reliability? Never considered dropping a RB trigger in it until now. Apparently it runs with it?

Clear, concise and to the point. THIS is why forums like this are so valuable. Thanks so much for putting my mind at ease. Care to take a stab as to why increasing the trigger pull allowed the heavier buffers to work? I changed no other variables....same ammo, mags etc....

I’ve pulled the trigger and gone Rare Breed

Changing the trigger return spring and upping the pull weight made ALL the difference in the world! Amazing! Whereas the H2 wouldn't run at all, it does now. And the H3 is even better. Easy singles and a slower ROF! It seems that I did open one can of worms... The Geissele coiled spring came...

I’ve pulled the trigger and gone Rare Breed

My Geissele H1 system arrived this week. I also purchased an additional Geissele tungsten weight. My plan is to experiment using the weights in my Colt buffers to see what happens? I already know the H2 won't run so I'll start off by adding a weight (H3) to see what happens? I was disappointed...

Yes! I can tell you I'd MUCH rather scratch up my Colt 6920 than my M16A2. Also no 5320 forms when I travel. Much less hassle. I can also say that the FRT runs just like my '16. Impressive and about $25K cheaper!
