I don't know. I have had my Taurus G2s apart right next to my brother's S&W M&P Shield. Could not find any discernible difference in quality between them. He has also reported feeding issues with certain types of JHP as well.

So here is an update. Yesterday I took the G3C to the range with both my carry ammo and regular range ammo. To date I have re-cleaned and oiled the gun well. Went to the range and it handled 2 mags full of the Federal HST with no issue. Put another box of regular range ammo through it as well...
