Thanks for the very quick response. I agree that the full size 1911 extractor replacement is pretty straight-forward; it's finding one for my EMP that seems to be a problem. I fear that its extractor is properly a SA proprietary part. I may be forced to send the slide to them.

Krunchink: Thanks for the response. You are correct the front sight is secured with a roll-pin, not a set screw. I was able to knock-out the pin and install the replacement sight. On the other hand the factory-installed rear sight is secured by a set screw, which was very easy to remove...

I'm having trouble removing the front sight on my EMP (3inch barrel). There appears to be a set screw but I am unable to loosen it . Any thoughts.
