I've been shooting about 50 years or so but while I've shot 1911's numerous times I've never owned one. I recently rectified that failure in my life with a new 1911 Ronin in 45 ACP and am absolutely loving it. I shot Beretta pistols for a number of years in USPSA/IPSC and IDPA and still love them but the differences between them and a 1911 two are noticeable and I'm actually enjoying "Retraining" myself on something new.
