    JB Bore Paste

I'm going to try that at some point. Someone else mentioned using it on slide rails and said it worked great so it had me intrigued. I've got one gun that needs some polishing on the trigger and sear and I think that would be a good test. Thanks for the info, much appreciated.

    JB Bore Paste

Well, I have to say it does a pretty good job. I cleaned my 1911 thoroughly after shooting it a month or so ago but there was one stubborn line of some kind of fouling I couldn't get rid of. I scrubbed it several different ways; once with Hoppe's #9 on a bronze brush, once with it on a patch...

    The Red Bull P-38 Lightning

I did a bit of digging and ran across some really interesting drawings on Google. If you search using the phrase: "p-38 lightning cross-sectional drawing" you will find enough to keep you busy for a good while. It's really interesting to see how they utilize every cubic foot for something...

    The Red Bull P-38 Lightning

While I am a P-51 fan (NUTHIN' sounds like a Merlin at full song!) I have to admit that the P-38 is a drop-dead gorgeous machine, especially in "Bare Metal" as that one is. It's one of the few warbirds I haven't seen close-up and I would dearly love to rectify that and see one in person some day.

    Bye Bye Springfield Armory?

Tennessee has plenty of room and always welcomes new industry. We can site you right next to Beretta or Barret if you want!

    JB Bore Paste

Ah, gotcha. Be careful with the muzzle crown. I asked because the directions for J-B Bore Bright (which is basically a bore "Polisher") states, "Do not polish the chamber walls; a too-slick chamber will increase case thrust against the bolt and can damage the gun" That agrees with what I've...

    JB Bore Paste

Thanks for the info but did you mean "Chamber" instead of "Muzzle"? I always clean from the chamber toward the muzzle (same direction the bullet goes) so once I "go thru the muzzle" there ain't nuthin there but air ;)

    JB Bore Paste

Well, I'm glad I bought it now. It seems to be a good product. It got here yesterday so I'll try to give it a try on something this weekend. Once again thanks to everyone for all the helpful posts. They are much appreciated.

    JB Bore Paste

Thanks folks. That's what I was hoping to hear and I appreciate everyone's input. Yes, I will follow the instructions to the letter. I think the "Bore Bright" is primarily Jeweler's Rouge and if so I could polish all day every day and not wear anything down. And, yes, it primarily will be...

    JB Bore Paste

Got that covered! The JB cleaners are in little 2oz tubs whereas my JB weld is in a tube. I think that even in my worst moments I can tell the difference. Good point though, thanks for the advice!

    JB Bore Paste

Understood. You don't have to use felt pellets, the instructions actually just say to use an undersized bore brush with a patch wrapped around it. I also prefer Hoppes #9 and Break Free CLP that I have been using for a long time. It's just rather difficult to get stubborn, built-up fouling...

    JB Bore Paste

I guess this is as good an area to ask this question as any. And I know before I ask that there will be differing opinions but I'll accept that since everyone's opinion is worth something. I just ordered some "JB Non-Embedding Bore Cleaner" and "JB Bore Bright". I've never used them before...

Gun Sales Trend Higher for February: Over 1.2 Million

We are enablers. I admit it and I apologize sincerely. If I can make it up to you by taking a number of your firearms off your hands at no cost to me I will be glad to do so :p

    Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15: First Soviet Swept-Wing Fighter

A number of years ago the company I worked for was doing some runway renovations for an airport here in Tennessee. I had to go to a meeting at the Tennessee Department of Aviation and while waiting for it to start I looked over some brochures they had out. One was for the Tennessee Museum of...
