Surviving Civil Unrest is an Unfortunate and Necessary Skill These Days

Thanks, Talyn. I have lived a good while and only been stuck one time in a crowd while in my vehicle. Fortunately, it wasn’t a violent crowd and I was able to drive over a curbed median and go the other way. I was really glad I was in a vehicle high enough to get over the curb. It was an old...

Two Best Survival Books I've Read

I loaned my old Boy Scout Handbook to a friend who was building a bow. I never got it back. I have my son’s handbook but don’t think it is nearly as good. I like Les Stroud too. I have watched a bunch of his videos.

What You Should Carry in Your Range Bag

I keep it very simple, even simpler than the writer. Instead of tape and a stapler, I just use big binder clips. I think they are quicker and easier, besides being reusable. If something breaks, I quit and go home.

    Back to the range...finally!

Good shooting Bella. Maybe it is contagious. I haven’t been shooting for a while either.

    June 21, 1788 U.S. Constitution ratified

Thank you, Shaneba. When I was in school back in the age of the dinosaurs I wasn’t very interested in history. My interest has increased over the years and now I find history fascinating. I wish people “these days” would do a better job honoring our Constitution and Bill of Rights. What...

    I don’t get it.

My dad had a phrase that might apply: “Some people have more money than they have sense.” There is a tendency to want the latest and greatest, but the latest is not always the greatest!

Chinese Nationals smuggle in Agriculture Bio pathegen

Somehow, this reminds me of the 60’s or 70’s ballad “One Tin Soldier.” There are always those who want what someone else has and are willing to do what is necessary to take it. Maybe, the intent of the folks who smuggled in the pathogen was entirely to further their career in research, but...

    Hunting

The linked article sort of goes along in the same vein as the new Florida law about animal cruelty, only aimed towards wild versus domesticated animals. One day, hopefully not in my lifetime, hunters may become extinct. Long live veganism (not!)! https://apple.news/AOVTjqxz4SoaYt-WqEvXAqA

Thank you, Hayes. May God bless, comfort and strengthen the family of this young officer. Senseless!

Penalties for abandoning pets during natural disasters

If a person makes a decision to have animals, then they need to do their best to take care of the animals. I have always been a “dog person,” and I love my dog. That being said, I think this law goes way too far. Whatever happened to “mind your own business?” I have no idea why somebody...
