I had a truck gun, as it were—a long gun kept out of sight behind the seat—for years. In fact, I had two truck guns, come to think of it; I also kept a .22 H&R in a pocket of the seat cover. This was as recently as 10-15 years ago…no problems with it.

Nice. I’m wavering between a Romeo X and a Holosun SCS 320 for this 229. I’ve got my DPP mounted on it…but I think I want to switch it over to the Prodigy.

They don’t constantly make every model; they go in batches. Seems that a batch of evacs just got made; who knows when it will be time for the edge.

That’s an external extractor. Internal is what a traditional 1911 has. And I don’t care for external extractors in 1911’s either.

You’ve got 1 round even if you don’t have a mag disconnect. Show me one example where a CCW’r failed in a gunfight because of it. Don’t get me wrong, none of my defensive handguns have one, but if I decided to carry my S&W 5906, I wouldn’t worry about it.

There’s several other rifles I’d prefer for $3100…

^^^This. You may want to buy a box or two locally first, and verify it runs well in your pistol when you shoot it, and that it has acceptable accuracy & control…but after that? Buy a few hundred rounds,, so you can cycle your carry mags from time to time, and you’ll be set for a good long time.

This is true, that you get slightly less expansion and slightly more penetration with clear gel. That being said—it is very consistent, and repeatable; the results are quite applicable (and, I might add, are very close to the same loads when shot through similar barriers in true 10% ordnance...
