Jacksonville Sheriff's Office allows officers to carry something other than Glock

It's not the cop that's gonna kill you in J-ville. If you end up in Duval county jail there is a very good chance when you are released, it will be in a pine box.

    Fail to fire malfunction

Agree with @Biggfoot44, a common culprit is the firing pin channel. It starts when lube seeps in or cleaning solvent is introduced while scrubbing breech face during cleaning process. That moisture attracts carbon buildup on firing pin spring coils as well as firing pin and wall of said chamber...

    First AR recommendations

I like my M&P 15, spent around 5 bones for it several years ago. The Vortex 1×8 lpvo was about the same with the mount. Plus added Magpul fore grip, Ergo fat grip and BAD lever. I built the 10.5"pistol from a PSA kit. $420.00 for the kit, Came with everything but the stripped lower. I added a...

    Holosun SCS issues with screws?

I agree Bob, guess at best. I would bet that if you took my Wheeler FAT wrench and set it to 10 inlb and torqued 5 separate screws, they would all have different torqued values actually applied to each.

    Holosun SCS issues with screws?

I have heard that we should Reduce torque by 3 to 5 inlb with loctite as it lubricates the screw. See attached from Vortex Defender XL manual.

    Why 1911 or 2011?

Not sure where fit in. I have a Staccato or two, yes with batteries, locktite, and red dots. I have a few 1911 operators in 45acp. Heck, I even have a wooden slingshot that shoots rocks. One thing is for sure, they all put a smile on my face when I fire them. Get what you like and have fun...

Why Choose the XD Mod.3 for Home Defense?

Wow, that was a Lot. 10 fire arms? What seems excessive to one may just be the beginning for another. Be happy with your restraint (be it guns or cocaine) and allow others to reach thier own conclusion on either. As far as Glocks go, there are those that do, and those that do not. Peace.

Question About 2011s (AKA Double Stacked 1911)

I say do your research, if you decide on a 1911DS or 2011 that you like, buy it and enjoy it. It will be a good choice for you AND your wife. Be prepared, no matter what you buy, there will be fanboys of another brand waiting to "hate" on it. As far as over priced range toy, over priced for one...

    Zeroing Red Dot Optic

Welcome from N.N. FLA. I am currently shooting my RDS equipped handguns with a 12 yard zero. The indoor pistol range I belong to is 15 yards deep. This zero allows me to hit 3.5" targets from 7 to 15 yds fairly consistently. We also have an indoor 25 yard pistol/rifle range, I don't shoot that...
